Here in Killeen and also on Fort Hood, if a vehicle can be heard more than 50 feet away(stereo included), you can be fined $2500!

Alright!!! Now that's my kind of place. I have grown very tired of hearing the bass part on (c)rap songs for a full minute while a car drives by at approx. 30 mph.

Ray,
The best part is...it is actually being enforced! One Soldier in my battalion had to pawn his head unit and speakers in order to pay his fine. It is much more peaceful around here now. We had too many young Soldier's with all sorts of deployment money and nothing better to buy than car stereos.

Boy, I've been know to get the attention of the neighbors in my day (garage bands, straight pipe on my E-type when I couldn't afford stainless steel mufflers), but that's over the top!

One can only hope that one gets welded with too much constriction and the idiot blows an exhaust manifold gasket.

There's another way to enforce it: as non-standard equipment or non-approved equipment in areas that have stricter emissions laws, because as you know, the more resistance, the more the engine has to work, and less gas mileage, more gas burned to get the car going, which means more emissions than legal.
