Flip audio vs. Zoom H2

Okay, I've got a pretty Flip Ultra and a pretty Zoom H2, so here's a little head-to-head so you all can get an idea of what these bad boys pick up.

About the Zoom: I'm not a digital audio wizard, so there are probably "settings" I could have fooled with to change (improve?) the sound, but I just hit the big red button with whatever settings I had left there from a previous recording (looking after-the-fact: gain = Low, recording level = 50). If you all want, I can mess around with the settings and find something "good". There are no options for audio finesse on Flip, so that was just a matter of hitting the even-bigger red button and blowing away.

I tried to make the video as high-quality as possible, so I think you can hear higher-quality audio on YouTube by selecting a higher option than "360p". Both microphones were approx. 48 inches away from the guttersnipe with the oom-pah generator. I hope it helps!

The Flip clearly has auto-gain to automatically set the recording level. The distortion spike at the beginning of each phrase is the result of the auto-gain turning itself way up during the silence and clipping when the sound starts. The audio from the H2 can be copied to computer and the level adjusted with a program like Audacity.

By all means, sir. I can be accused of a lot of things, but misrepresenting my videos isn't one of them.
