You should be happy how it went. I've only heard Dance of the Goblins and it was fantastic. That's not a published piece is it? I wouldn't mind a copy, if that is somehow legally possible

To John: Dr. Benjamin Pierce at the University of Arkansas arranged the Bazzini for euphonium and recorded it on his cd entitled Cheers. The CD is available on his website. The arrangement is not listed. When I emailed him, I asked if he had it in Finale or something similar and if he did, if he could drop it a fourth for tuba. He emailed it to me within hours, and charged me what he said was the retail cost of the arrangement minus shipping. It was really good service! If you are interested in it, just email him. And get your slurring up to snuff... that was the hardest part for me....

To Lew: I think it was a lucky draw on the Willson. I've learned to love the low range, but I really think I got a good one. It's kinda funny too, because I just ordered it online from WWBW back in 2005. I got lucky!

To Mojo: Thanks for the compliments! It was a lot of fun, which I realized you can't tell from the video. My walking in and walking out was very spirited, so hopefully that made up for the lack visual stimulus in the performance. I guess I should work on that aspect.

Thanks for the compliments! The high quality of these videos, as captured by some friends of mine who record recitals for a fee here in Baton Rouge, has really made me regret not video taping my performances from the beginning of my time playing tuba. I would have quite a catalog by now and it is so easy to do! I will definitely be adding to my channel as performances come up. The next thing I think I will video is a recording session I am doing for one of my original compositions for tuba and live electronics. I am recording it in January for submission to the NIME (New Interfaces of Musical Expression-Ann Arbor, May 2012) and ICMC (International Computer Music Conference-Ljubljana, Slovenia, September 2012) conferences. There may be a few more that come up too. I will probably submit it to SEAMUS (Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the U.S.) conference when it comes around again as well as a few smaller scale and local conferences.

I will also be video taping rehearsals and other preparations for our world premiere duet for two tubas and GUA that we are presenting at ITEC in Austria. That will feature GUA (a digital instrument two of my friends devised) performed by those two guys and myself and Sergio Carolino on Tuba. Should be a lot of fun!!
