Re: Canadian Brass on NPR's Tiny Desk ConcertIt's funny about that carbon fiber bell. Chuck has lightened one of the lightest parts of the tuba.
If you think about it, the bell is full of air. I guess it does change the center of gravity and lend some "Indestructibility" to it. To this day, I regret the day I refused to work with him on building the Getsen G-50 out of styrene. I doubted the Getsen Co would have let it be sold as cheaply as I wanted and I didn't like the horn, but it is an undeniably great player and well.....I should have ! BTW: I know the orn in the video isn't the Getsen, but when we talked (in 1990 somthing) that's what he had. Brian "Goodgigs" Kane
