Studio Pictures...

Post by Dylan King »

Hello friends,

I recently got my first feature film to score. My biggest job yet. I have done some upgrading to my home studio and took a few pictures. Thought I would share them with you.

Wow, I really like that studio. Is that logic on Macs by the controller? And I guess the duct tape is in case all hell breaks loose in there. :P

I just got a Quad-G5 and am running Logic 7.1.1. My primary sample library is the Vienna Symphonic Library, which sounds better than anything I have heard to date. Of course I make it sound even better recording my own live brass and guitar sounds on top of the library.

My mixer/digital audio interface is the Tascam FW-1884, which has a great sounds and works perfectly integrated into Logic. It works both as a control surface and DAW, and allows for the entire sytem to work in one computer.

The desk with only one display is my assistant/guitarist's desk and is running my old dual G4 using the Tascam US-428 as its interface. I also have it hooked up to use Reason, because I enjoy the sound and ease-of-use of their soft synths.

The three displays on the other desk are on my PC. I guess everyone has to pay Microsoft if they want to get ahead these days. I donh't do any music on that setup, just basic office junk and internet.

Looks like you had some dailies on one of the monitors. Can we assume correctly that the film will have Steve Martin in it?
