A reply to a post almost 730 days (2 years) old:

http://www.tubaexchange.com/historic_co ... /index.htm

The Tuba Exchange has got an insane collection of tubas, sousaphones and helicons in their historical section with pictures and specs on most of them. It's quite interesting to see what form the tuba has taken over the years in all its configurations. Worth a look for all those tuba enthusiasts out there. :D

I think that I have litterally spent a day on that site. Don't go there if you don't have time to waste.

A great looking horn! Just curious, did you buy it that way or spend big bucks to make it pretty!!! Does it play similar to a 20J?

Now the Dutch Tuba Site is gone. Forever. Boohoo. It was so great to see all of those tuba pictures and all of the links it had were great.
Any time at all is tuba time. Watch for the signs.

If you have room on your hard drive - download the ones you like from collection sites like that one - it is rare that the there is any problem doing that (I know some are not in "Public Domain" but if you are not re-selling them it is more like making a photo-copy of a magazine article.)

Over the years a lot of very interesting websites have gone "poof" - so save what you can!

You should also keep your own bookmark list of useful website links - don't depend on anybody else to do it for you! Be sure to re-name your bookmarks with something relevant - lots of the automatic bookmarking systems titles the link as "Home" or "History" or other generic terms.
(You will probably be more up to date than some collections as sites change addresses.)

Lower link not tuba specific, but go by the index. There is a tuba from 1870, maybe some older ones. Tubas from all around the globe:
