Here's a couple for you that you don't have to fabricate; they really did appear on television.

1) Ben Cartwright (Lorne Greene) carrying a helicon from his bedroom. I don't remember the episode, but I actually saw this on Bonanza.

2) Sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith) leading the Mayberry Town Band while playing the tuba. (He really played the tuba.)

Any picture of Lumpy Rutherford ("Leave It to Beaver") with his sousaphone.
