Okay... Having spent most of my life in CA and without burning any bridges, I have to say that there are some really great people in CA.

However... There are two sides to every story and I am so happy to be out of there!

They obviously haven't heard of water toxicity. Next contest, consider Gatorade.

Whenever I need a little cheering up over winter weather, I can usually go to wunderground.com and see how things are in Old Crow, Yukon. (why do people live there?)

It would be nice of those TDA's in the arctic NW and Alaska would get straightened out on when to send their weather this way. In winter, no. In summer, send all you want.

But they keep getting it backwards.

That was just depressing. I got on the weather underground to look at Old Crow, Yukon and they are only 1 degree Fahrenheit colder than here where I am in Lusk, Wyoming. We don't have a wunderground station here but the one at the HS works well and gives accurate readings. Negative six degrees fahrenheit here and that is the warmest it has been for a few days.

Bleah,
Sou

The short answer is no... About the only thing CA has going for it is good weather. Everything else is the price you pay for having good weather.

Oh... The other good thing about CA is the high price of homes. I say that because our house tripled in value in 6 years! It's what allowed us to move east and get out of debt...

So, don't feel bad for those that still live there, it's their choice! If they leave CA they might come to your neighborhood!!!

Mid-70's here for the past three days and late tomorrow the storm arrives.
My buddy in New Orleans bought a storm damaged boat on E-Bay for $2,500 (36 footer with a fine diesel). We motored out onto Lake Ponchitrain (spelling?) yesterday in shirtsleeves.
I gotta get a motorcycle ride in today before the deluge and return to the 40's.

Joe, how's your weather today???

I'm 15-20 min north of Tulsa and we were spared the worst of the storm. There's still 3-4 in of solid ice but it's all on the ground. South and East of here is a different story with ice in the trees and fallen power lines. Warmer weather (low 40's) is expected later in the week but the damage is already done...
