Here is a clip from the Vienna State Opera under Abbado. Not sure who is playing tuba in the tavern band, but its on a little Viennese F. WOW.

Definitely in the minority... but i HEART Wozzeck. It is the anti-italian/french opera! So depressing, so angry, so much sprechstimme. The leitmotifs are awesome! The captain, after countless viewings, still makes me so angry I can't even see straight!
The tuba playing is... bold... to say the least... in that recording.

I'm in the same minority as you. WHat do you think of Lulu? ANother one of my favorites. Also love Moses Und Aron. I need a shower to get the filth off after The Golden Calf scene.
