I can't get this tune out of my head and all my family members love it so I am working it up for vocal and guitar.
Jason Mraz plays this song diferently every time. I like this version because he features his fine percussionist.

This is a cool idea. A traveling music fan recorded a street musician playing, "Stand by Me". He then took his recording far and wide and added recordings of many other streetplayers - adding their lines to the first.
He came up with a fine ensemble from all around the world.

Found another vid by Rusty McHugh and Mike Fincher.
Both these guys are dead now but we Guf Coasters treasure their memory. They were the kings of trashy music.
