I was poking around the
Amati.cz site (using Google translator to help navigate the site) and found this interesting picture tucked away in a side page:

If the translation is correct, this was made by an apprentice instrument builder sometime between the 1st and 2nd World War. Wonder how it sounds!

I think this one is was a "real" brasswind - not a Schalmei - since there are a lot of tuning slides, which the Schalmei don't need.
I saw
your question - I can't be sure, but it is a fair bet that it is a multi-belled horn - not a reed instrument. There is no mouthpiece showing, but there are no resonating chambers that I can see.
