If you like this sort of thing I can highly recommend getting on the Contrabass list, or at least looking at the website. (that is where I first saw this clip, I think.) Anyway, anything from Tubas to Tubax, as long as it is Contra!

If you like low, search the web for mp3 of the organ at convention hall, Atlantic City, NJ. They are out there. Maybe not the best, but good enough for you to get some idea of the effect of a 64-foot pedal.
The lowest "note" I have ever played was when I had a Micro-Moog. The filter section could be put into self-oscillation, and the sine wave could be dialed down a low as you wanted to go -- 1 Hz for example. It's a wonder I didn't burn up any speakers or amplifiers doing this.

I worked with an original Moog in the 80's. I would turn the VOT's against the walls and run a sine glissando through the sub frequencies and listen to the pianos in the practice rooms reverberate. Ah, the memories...
