Hot Stuff!

Post by David Richoux »

Someone pointed me to this 1960's comic book cover - it would make a great t-shirt or temporary tattoo!

Also, artist Albert Calleros has done an updated version - see it here. (Click it for a bigger view.)

Seeing the avatar version, I immediately thought it would be ideal for Dave Gannet. I seem to recall one of his albums being "Tubas From Hell".

Could I suggest, Wade, that you email it to him with a suggestion that he adopt it?

Dave has to be the only person I know who can cram a couple chunks of fondue, a big slice of pizza and half a beer into thi mouth and still blow some hot tuba. (Yea, parties at Harve's place were a gas!)

Guess I could make the contact, but think those involved should get the credit.
Free to tuba: good home

It looks like Harvey Comics are still kind of in business, although with many changes in ownership over the years. Somebody still holds a character trademark for "Hot Stuff" so it may (or possibly not) be difficult to get a license for t-shirts or whatever. Darn!

As I recall from my childhood comic book reading, Hot Stuff never actually touched the ground - he always floated a few inches above - as seen here.
