2 tenors and 1 bass trombone, an F cimbasso (labeled as a contrabass trombone, which is how I came across it...), an Eb tuba, and no carnage. Sigh. That German Brass recording has spoiled me...
Trombones are Chris Mowatt, Henry Hardy and Steve Saunders.
Cimbasso is Jim Anderson, Tuba is Paul Smith. Recorded 1994.
I think that Henry Wood's original scoring may have called for Contrabass Trombone, with the cimbasso being a more nimble supplier of the same sound? (My guess.)
Great fun to play.
