I was browsing YouTube and found this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WCMzRLov58 " target="_blank
The solo starts around 1:59
Anyone know what tuba he is playing on
Martin bell-front BBb
I have seen Mr. Maloof use at least 6 different BBb tubas on the Welk show.
He was a great tuba/bass doubler.

Perhaps some day you will, Bob. It is actually quite simple. That may be why you, and many others, don't get it.

Can anyone suggest a source for the sheet music for the Clarinet/tuba polka I have seen it as a quintet and as solo on youTube "Westy" Westhofer plays it entertainingly on a sousaphone
Cant carry a tune but I can carry a tuba.

it would seem that Mr. Whelk recycled the clarinet polka from the 50s tuba and dancing also found more of Dick doing his stuff with a classic tuba sound hard working guy.

The answer is "yes," briefly. Both 1st & 2nd Tuba(taking turns) get it in the final chorus.
