Sure
Did you listen to Hamlet? That's some serious
deep tuba sound!
The YouTube video doesn't do it justice though; it sounds even better and much clearer on the CDs......speaking of which....
My 5 CD box set arrived today and it's amazing. It's the complete Tchaik symphonies 1-6 w/Bernstein & N.Y. Phil on the Sony label.
Romeo & Juliet, Francesca da Rimini, Slavonic March, 1812 Overture, and Hamlet are on the CDs as well. Bill Bell is on Romeo & Juliet (rec. 1957), Francesca da Rimini (rec. 1960), and Symphony no. 5 (rec. 1960) Joe Novotny is on everything else.
It's just fantastic all around - the sound, balance, style, tempos, Bernstein's interpretation, etc.
