A couple of duets played by James Stretton & John Elliot showing the contrast in tones of the Bubbie mini travel tuba and John Fletcher's 6/4 Holton CC.

My understanding talking to John Elliot is that Versuvio II is a one off made by Holton based on the CSO York CC for Arnold Jacobs - he sold to Bob Tucci who used it on the Solti/Vienna Phil Wagner Ring, then to John Fletcher and can be heard on the LSO/Previn recordings of the 1970's as well as on the Star Wars soundtrack. Later was passed to Steve Wick who two years ago sold to John Elliot who uses it frequently freelance playing in London.

I was fortunate enough to try the Holton last week and and it is a really special tuba - would be fascinating to do play comparison against the original York CC. One difference I can say is weight - the Holton is similar weight to a 345 BBb
