Hi Tubenetters,
yesterday in one of Germanys most popular Late Night Show for younger
people I have seen Prof. Wachsmuth with the biggest tuba in Europe.
Perhaps you have some fun to see this tuba in action

great tuba, great player but not a single note to show off the tuba. Our world has gone the way of a ferret on espresso. Extreme at all cost.

Very sporty!
Any musical value? Hardly.
But the valves are well oiled.

Agreed. It's a subcontrabass BBBb tuba. Let's hear it in the contrabass/subcontrabass range on a video with good stereo audio quality.arminhachmer wrote:great tuba, great player but not a single note to show off the tuba.
I'm under the impression that it abides in a museum in Markneukirchen where it is not necessarily accessible even to genuine tuba players. It is released from its display for media appearances by Prof. Wachsmuth and for viewing only at the Frankfort Musikmesse.
In currently uploaded videos, people other than Prof. Wachsmuth are not provided an adapter for a standard size tuba mouthpiece; the "double scale sized" impossibly large mpc is what is displayed with the tuba.
