Video of Bydlo - with Piano

Post by dwerden »

New video, new arrangement! This is Bydlo (the Ox Cart), from Pictures at an Exhibition, arranged for euphonium or tuba with piano. I used the Mussorgsky piano version as a basis, giving the tuba or euphonium the two solo passages. This video is from my March 2015 recital at the University of Iowa. Part of my idea was to make it easier to play this solo in recitals, etc. (Obviously performance opportunities with orchestra are somewhat rare.)

Sounds great! I really like that arrangement too, so ordered it today from Cimarron.

Thanks, Rick - glad you enjoyed it! I forgot to mention... Until May 1, 2015 the price is reduced from $17 to $12 (Cimarron volunteered to do that as an introductory deal):

Is the left-hand hold a commercial product?
Who sells it?

That's a fairly new product that Bill Ricker designed and is sold on his QHR's website. It's called the "Euphonium Hand Strap".

You can read about here in Dave Werden's blog:
