I guess my bell front tuba is configured as a raincatcher, in this sense, at the moment. Been practicing, and I can hear myself a lot better with the bell in this position.

fast, but her tone was horrible - unless that is just a recording artifact.

As for the baritone or alto horn, I think it is just a detachable bell that is rotated the wrong (or different) way.
