Has the number of dixieland bands declined since 1980? I'm sure there are some gigs on the Mississippi, but here in Louisville there are just one or two groups with paying gigs. What modern venues would a modern dixieland group be hired at, I wonder? Casinos?
Also wonder - is there a "hipster niche" for dixieland, now?
