All troublemakers should be required to peer into Wayne's mailbox...
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

It has been exceedingly rare in recent years, probably about to the 2nd or 3rd standard in the poll. In the previous era, it used to happen often enough that you'd know about it, but like today, it was one man putting out fires here and there, and I'm not sure it made a great deal of difference. May have even made things worse. You'll occasionally see the more combative personalities still trying to pick a fight with Sean - he seems to have retired long ago, and they're still here spoiling for action.bort wrote:No, I don't -- before this post, I had never heard that phrase before. And I'm not sure I've even really known when a member has been punished or suspended (or whatever).
I used "vacation" for historical reference, but you don't have to subscribe to the particular details of that policy to answer the poll - another process issue. It isn't clear to me that someone who needs to be sent away, should ever be allowed back. But then I don't know how to really keep people from coming back, if they love the place so much they'll come back to do their thing under a new identity. Some people seem to now be convinced that they recognize one of the more conspicuously quarrelsome and obtuse new identities, though I personally don't buy it.
(edit:) Also, please assume effective moderation for the purpose of answering the poll. Even if it would take a dozen moderators working several hours a day, whatever it takes.
