Re: Update Update
Obviously "The Donald" is enjoying his ride around the golf course that the other guy, "his very good friend Hussain Sajwani" named in his honor. Makes me want to throw up, and I am a conservative.
I am fortunate to have a great job that feeds my family well, but music feeds my soul.

Heck, I miss Carter!!bort wrote:Good ol' Mittens ain't looking so bad now, is he?
http://www.snopes.com/jimmy-carter-bann ... mmigrants/" target="_blankCarter explicitly outlined the reasons behind the issuance of sanctions (including visa cancellation for Iranian nationals) and underscored his intent to pressure Iran's regime. By contrast, Trump's proposal was markedly different: not a sanction, but a security measure framed as a counterterrorism strategy, and one directed at all adherents of a particular religion (regardless of their nationalities) rather than citizens of a particular country. Moreover, Carter's sanctions occurred during a lengthy period of escalating conflict between Iran and the United States (while U.S. hostages remained in foreign captivity), but Trump's proposal came in response to a mass shooting perpetrated by an American citizen and his immigrant wife.
But the biggest difference between the two??
Carter was the President and actually did it.
Trump is a loudmouth who only popped off about it but is powerless to actually do anything!!

As long as people continue to belive Islam is just a religion, and ignore the political aspect, we are doomed.
http://www.politicalislam.com/about/
The head of American Islamic Forum for Democracy supports the ban Trump called for. Until such time as a way to reliably separate the political aspects.Islam is a cultural, religious and political system. Only the political system is of interest to kafirs (non-Muslims) since it determines how we are defined and treated
http://aifdemocracy.org/declaration-of- ... er-4-2015/
We are Muslims who live in the 21st century. We stand for a respectful, merciful and inclusive interpretation of Islam. We are in a battle for the soul of Islam, and an Islamic renewal must defeat the ideology of Islamism, or politicized Islam, which seeks to create Islamic states, as well as an Islamic caliphate.

It's that old time religion. Back in the day, the lieutenants of the "prince of peace" weren't doing their job if there weren't at least a few heretics burned alive, and sometimes more than a few (e.g. Albigensian Crusade.)

Isn't it amazing how some religions have progressed over the last 700 years and others, well, not so much??

Look in the right place, and you'll find what you want to find. In the west, you have to look harder, because post Rennaissance western culture is less accepting of religious terrorism, but see for example Ku Klux Klan in the early part of the last century, with membership apparently 15% of the eligible US population.Three Valves wrote:Isn't it amazing how some religions have progressed over the last 700 years and others, well, not so much??

Hmm...I believe the longest running thread in TubeNet history has run seriously off the rails!
I'm not going to be able to play at our Capitol Carols tomorrow for the first time in years because severe left knee pain prevents me from schlepping a tuba up and down flights of stairs.
Maybe I'll be ready next year after my orthopedist and physical therapist have recommended and we've carried out the best course of action regarding the knee.

Well I, for one, continue to still be uninformed!
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

To share poli-memes that do not base they main points on lies, misrepresentations, or stuff-manufactured-from-whole-cloth, only share libertarian memes.

exactly. ' time for another 1.6 billion folks (or at least a significant percentage who - when polled - say that terrorism is "sometimes justified") to come along and embrace tolerance. Those who cannot tolerate are...well...intolerable.
