I got 2 hours of sleep last night... between 6:30am and 8:30am.

Thanks, Son. :|

(I really can't complain though, like 95% of the time, he sleeps straight through the night.)

In the right margin I now see adds for a Christian bookstore. I just went to that website looking for some church music and the adds have replaced the normal girls from wherever. Wonder what this is trying to tell me? Oops! Now it has changed to custom saw blades, which I have never searched for. Hmmmmm.

Angies list home repair adds now, but I do my own home repairs. See what you have done to me. I'll probably start thinking I can't fix my house any longer because of you!

According to what I've just seen, no one won the Powerball last night and the jackpot for Wednesday is now at $1.3 BILLION dollars.

I have to stop entering contests with prizes that I don't want... because those are the ones that win. A few years ago, I won an iPhone (in the form of a $650 Apple Store gift card). That gift card is still sitting here in my house, unused, because I can't stand iPhone (or any Apple product, for that matter).

Today, I won a $25 iTunes gift card. Um... I think I might have had and used an iTunes account in 2007?

It's good news for my wife though, I give them straight to her.

I don't play the lottery but my wife does. She rationalizes it as a benefit to education. She is right to a point. In GA and TN 40% of every dollar spent on tickets winds up in the education system. While she was teaching the lottery bought 10 computers and a smart board for her 2nd grade class room. The HOPE scholarship is completely funded by the lottery and saved me approximately $30,000 for my 2 kids. So I shouldn't hesitate to participate............... but I do. I just don't like the odds, but if other folks want to subsidize my grandkids' education, more power to 'em.

Say it any way you want but both my kids make way more than me due at least in part to a wonderful college education partly funded by other people's lottery tickets. I get a smile every time I think about it. The other stuff, taxes etc., would happen anyway, unless I moved to the other side of the world.

Did you ever wonder how people went to college 20 years ago, before the interstate underclass rip off became legal??

Do you remember when the sales tax was going to be "only" 2% and be for the good of the children, and old folks, don't forget the old folks!!

How about when that bridge and road toll was only temporary??

I was there dude. Got my bachelor's in 1969 and worked nights in a gas station and pizza parlor to pay for my room and board/books(about $400 a semester). My folks could only afford the tuition,($110). I wouldn't allow my kids to work. I wanted them to spend 100% of their energy on studies. Fortunately they did exactly that and came out of college well prepared for a prosperous life ahead.

I always had sales tax, at least 3% I think.

GA400 in Atlanta comes to mind. They just tore down the toll booths last year. Seriously, no more toll because the road was paid off.

1) What is it now??

In Delaware there is none, there is still none but there are 3 casinos all ripping off the hard working citizens.

There used to be two auto plants there, both closed (GM and Chrysler)

Of course, the Banksters are taken care of....

2) That should be National News!!

Our tolls were reduced after Larry Hogan was elected in Maryland

I guess that's Progress!!

I remember when the Harbor tunnels were $1. I was in high school, and we thought it was funny to pay in pennies.

I also remember when the Maryland sales tax rate jumped from 5% to 6%, which I think was either shortly before or after I moved to NYC... where the sales tax rate was nearly 10%. Forget about Chicago...
