Same here - I'm lucky so far, but I've seen it do what it does to the previous couple generations of my paternal line, no laughing matter. Take it easy, but don't get too far out of shape in the process.bisontuba wrote:Best of luck to you. Bad backs suck. Just take it easy and heal...

Re: Update Update
Why do the cashiers at Home Depot always ask for a job number at checkout? If I'm pushing a stroller and buying one light bulb, isn't that kind of a clue?
It happened today, and when they asked me for a number, I made up a 12-digit number, just so they would have to type it in.
Next time, it'll be a 30-digit code.

Either that or if you're using a credit card issued to a company rather than an individual.

Nope... just me... with my kid in-arms... in the "regular" line... buying small stuff... with cash...Heavy_Metal wrote:Either that or if you're using a credit card issued to a company rather than an individual.
I also noticed that the self-checkout lanes *require* you to enter a job ID number before you can proceed. So stupid...

Re: Update Update
Maybe your store, or region, is doing a test of some new software in the checkout computers? Or has a glitch in what they have? I tend to agree with the others that the request for a job name or number is not universal. They may need your feedback to straighten it out.

Re: Update Update
The wife got a cold shower this afternoon so I spent a couple of hours this evening replacing the water heater. I got in a hurry and turned the water on too soon and two couplings leaked. No water tonight. Will be making a run to ACE early in the morning for a couple of 3/4" PVC couplings and a new shut-off valve.
Should have waited another hour or so before turning the water on. Dumb.

Been there, done that. Except I left the valve open when I thought I had closed it when I turned the water back on. My wife was happy to get to wash all the towels we had to use to dry up the mess I'd made.TubaTinker wrote:The wife got a cold shower this afternoon so I spent a couple of hours this evening replacing the water heater. Water heater sequel.... DO NOT use PVC glue on CPVC pipe. I had to redo the water hook-ups this morning.

Re: Update Update
Our water heater is over 20 years. I had a run of bad elements a couple years ago, but haven't had any trouble since. No sludge. If I remember right, I was able to replace an element without draining - a little water runs out, but not much if it's shut off at the valves.
