Re: What are YOU drinking right now?
I believe I would recommend Pikesville Rye for breakfast. Might be hard to find. Anyway, a good cheap `straight' rye whiskey with a relatively light, clean flavor. Have some tomato juice on the side, to make it healthy.
There might also be some corn liquor products that would qualify as "whiskey" (not sure of the requirements), that would be of interest in this application.

Re: What are YOU drinking right now?
This evening, Cocchi Americano. (pronounced "koek-kee")
Why "Americano"? It's from Italy. "Americano" is a type of aperitif made slightly bitter with cinchona (quinine), supposedly (cf. wikipedia) from the root amer meaning "bitter." Which sounds like BS to me. Cinchona is South American, maybe that's why "Americano".
Anyway, it's less than $20 a bottle, a little sweet, a little bitter, herbal ... tasty if you like that kind of thing, and interesting for mixed drinks. James Bond's "Vesper Martini" for example, uses "Kina Lillet", for which no longer existing product this is the most likely substitute.

Is this the blue juice you are referring to or the far less appetizing concoction from my trumpet case.
Mix equal parts of vodka, blue curacao, and lemon juice. This mixture can be drank as a shot or can be mixed with sprite. The mixture is one can of sprite to two ounces of the blue juice.

You are correct, sir! 'Tis pretty bad. About the only redeeming qualities are the bassbone pedals in the Bobby Gentry track.

You can do more than just drink the stuff, but some of these look like a waste of good liquor.

Good cup of French Roast, sipped on the deck earlier this morning, cursing the deer who have eaten my day lilies.

I'll swap you a half dozen rabbits for your deer, and throw in a small but insidious population of voles. Deer steak is good!
On a brighter note, the Leinie's was superb last night as I watched my pork chops char to perfecton.

Re: What are YOU drinking right now?
A bad cup of yesterday's reheated coffee. Sorry it doesn't taste very Gourmet at this point in time.
Need to find a COLD caffienated, diet orlow caloric, tasteless softdrink of come sort.
I suppose water would work.

Maibock homebrew.
FWIW, the Leinie SS is one of the few beers I could not bring myself to finish. Totally not my style though I can understand why people like it.
