Celebrated my Mom's 75th birthday yesterday with a trip to a Benihana-style Japanese steakhouse--Fuji in Traverse City, Michigan. She had never been to anything like this before. She loves noise and commotion, and didn't want to leave after we had finished dining!

There's a good chance we established a new birthday tradition for Mom...whom I believe has a very good shot at becoming a centenarian!

Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?

No, but someone recommended Specific Chatterley's Lover to me once...

If this Pan Am 'bone is anything like the satin-silver Wurlitzer stencil I once sampled...

...I can only hope it's being conserved for a collection, and nobody ever intends to actually play it.

A nasty East German or Chinese trombone would be an upgrade.

I was in a parade this weekend that tried to start early to avoid inclement weather.

Such a novel change of pace.

My Easter gig this year is all trombone 2 parts. Don’t even need a trigger. I’ll just take a peashooter tenor. Sad times.

I thought tuba players were tougher than that! Weather be damned. What's a little threat of tornadoes? :D

If Paul Bunyan played the tuba, they probably would be blaming him for the tornadoes.

On my way to my chiropractor, but I am feeling lucky. In an attempt to roll the topic page to 500, I am posting this. Maybe I'll be lucky!
