Going to NYC area

Postby eupher61 » Sun May 20, 2012 1:52 am

anyone have suggestions for an inexpensive motel---Motel 6, Super 8, La Quinta type of place--with good access to The City? All we need is clean and safe, with parking, and easy access to a train into Manhattan.

thanks@

Scrounge some parking in Woodbridge (near Matt's store) and take the train in from there.

I'll be stuck in NYC most of Saturday July 14.
Who wants to be my tour guide?
I would like to:

Shower and change clothes when I land at 6:30AM.
See the space shuttle on the aircraft carrier.
Have lunch with Savannah Guthrie.
Play chess in Washington Square park.
Visit the Manhattan chess club.
Take suggestions for other sites to see.
Return to JFK by 6PM.

thanks, Bruce

Pick one thing for the morning, and one thing for the afternoon. JFK is about an hour from midtown by subway, and the Intrepid museum is far from everything and incredibly interesting. You could easily spend your whole day there. Also, the shuttle exhibit is still only tentatively scheduled to open in "mid July," so check before you go.

Also, keep your wallet in your front pocket.
