I am committed to the advancement of civil rights, minus the Marxist intimidation and thuggery of BLM.

Where does one go to even see that another is deleted?lost wrote:I noticed certain members with a history of inflammatory comments have been deleted. How does one go about doing stuff to get deleted? Is there a warning system, or is it just at the whim of someone?

Re: Deleted members
He requested deletion of his account but all his posts were retained. There is a warning procedure and other people would be involved in a banning when that occurs. It isn't a flip decision.
In this case, I would have preferred he continue to post on a moderated basis.

Re: Deleted members
This is probably the wrong thing to say, but I'm glad to see him leave.
He was terrible here, and I like to think, maybe even with a little reason, that it wasn't fully reflective of his real self. I mean in person he was probably not like this (every once in a while even here he wasn't.) That happens in the online world, and after a few years of it you have to just hope that the person in question will get away. He shut the door and broke the lock, good luck to him.

I don't understand why he couldn't make his points without coating them with anger and contempt.
His posts were depressing. I'm not at all sorry he's gone.

Re: Deleted members
I would remind all those celebrating the absence of a member's account that what goes around comes around. Vitriol is vitriol, no matter the source...and I guess now I've also joined the otiose-post club!

Re: Deleted members
As far as I can see, if anyone's celebrating, they're doing it in private.

Meh, he made his choice. Wouldn't be the first person who got all pissed off, deleted all his posts, and got the hell out.

Re: Deleted members
Having had some dealings with him, he was actually a very decent fellow.58mark wrote:Dale has a lot of knowledge about the tuba, and we made it clear that we wanted to see more of that side of him as a contributing member of this forum
He wasn't willing to do that, and asked to be deleted
