I'll try to answer all 3 questions.

#1 Our euphonium player is named Tim Wilson

#2 I have no idea why the link to our website is not working...it was earlier today. Sorry.

#3 The position that will be vacant is mine. I will be moving over to Germany in August to be a member of the AF Band stationed there. I am sad to leave, but am definitely looking forward to a really cush gig in an absolutely gorgeous area.

Let me know if you have any questions about the gig that may be tuba related and I would be happy to answer them.

Cheers!

What level of security clearance is required for this gig?

(A near-decade old bankruptcy keeps me from being eligible for some of the highest levels)

Hey Marty

Everyone in our band is required to have a Secret clearance. As far as your individual situation is concerned, my advice would be to call your local Air Force recruiter and ask the question. A lot of the time they are way more in the loop as to what is acceptable or not. Hope this helps.

How about some details on the "cush gig" in Germany, like where, etc . . . . .

You'll more than likely come in as an E3. There's also bonuses and some other rates, too.

The above pay chart is correct, I am sure....

But be aware that there are other components to a military pay check.

If you live on post (would be free room and board) that will be your pay.

If you live off post, in your own home or apartment, you are given more money (tax-free too) to help with room and food expenses. This amount depends on where your duty station is, and your rank.

EDIT: Ya, u can see a link to BAH info there (thats housing allownace)

Jeff and others....

Please don't shoot the messenger, but yes, the audition has been cancelled. Due to circumstances out of our control, the position has been filled internally and therefore there is not a need for an audition. Although I am fairly far removed from the goings on at this level, I do apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

If you have any questions or concerns, PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to contact the auditions coordinator, TSgt Dave Crites at (757) 764-2931 or e-mail him at david.crites(at)langley.af.mil.

Apologetically,

This isn't directed at you andy, but I know that politics are a major role in everything these days ESPECIALLY THE MILITARY/GOVERNMENT. I do feel that the auditions coordinator should have made some attempt in contacting me and others to inform us of such changes. I do thank you for getting back on this subject so that no other plans were made.

Jeff

p.s. No shots will ever be fired from the messenger
at least not from this squad

Notification was given

Post by hnoyes »

Jeff-
Notification was made by both phone or email to those who had talked with Dave Crites regarding the audition. There is a possibility that he did not have your information on hand or could not reach you. I was very thankful that I and others were notifed and felt that the situation was handled extremely well.

Thanks.
