Before I aged out, if you said you were interested in a DC Tuba spot, they'd throw you out on your ear. Do they call contras, tubas now?

Just for future reference (and not for any other ulterior motive)...the singular for "corps" is "corps."

Alex...yeah, you hear the word "tuba" in DCI a lot more these days. In my day, as well, it was unthinkable. They also often call the upper brass "trumpets" now. *shudder*

Todd, who misses the two-valve instruments in G.

yeah...it's very much now a tuba...
it's in Bb...not G...
so, yes, I have marched both tuba and contra in my corps...oh what an experience that was!
I think I might end up as a grumpy old man when I get old...
