Euphonium Assistantship at the U. Arkansas

Post by Benjamp »

Hi Folks,

I'm happy to be able to offer an MM graduate assistantship for a euphonium player to begin during the 2010-11 school year. The assitantship will cover tuition and pay a small stipend. Duties are to include teaching lessons, team-teaching low brass class for music ed majors, and some miscellaneous administrative work. Some GAs have augmented their duties with theory, history, and office work for an increase in experience (and stipend). Also, the Arkansas Tuba Quartet, now in its third year, is composed of myself and three graduate students. It is a fine chamber group and a fun time.

Fayetteville is a wonderful town with all the amenities and surrounded by natural beauty. We have a large, active, friendly, and talented tuba/euphonium studio. Opportunities for performing are plentiful.

Interested students, please contact me via bjp02@uark.edu" target="_blank" target="_blank. The position will require a live audition and I'll be happy to listen to a recording first. This is for MM only as the U of A does not have a DMA program.

Thanks!

Bump!

One of the most rewarding experiences at the U of A has been the graduate quartet that Dr. Pierce plays in, as well. The literature is very challenging, and the gigs have been exciting and fun. Anyone that wants to increase as a musician and as a competitor should look into the program. I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience.
