New York Summer Music Festival 2010

Post by Jason Arnold »

Because it's never too soon to start thinking about your summer plans...
I am thrilled to be joining the faculty of the New York Summer Music Festival for 2010.
June 27th-August 7th 2010
Participants can choose from 2, 4, or the full 6 week sessions.

NYSMF is a six-week summer music camp filled with extraordinary musical opportunities for talented young musicians ages 10 to 25.

* Choose from more than 50 ensembles and classes.
* Perform in over 40 concerts each summer.
* Study 1-on-1 with some of the finest professional musicians from Juilliard, Curtis, the Manhattan School of Music, the New York Pops, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, and many, many other of the world's best performing ensembles

At NYSMF, you will experience a richly rewarding musical environment that is uniquely challenging, supportive, professional and fun.

Talented tuba and euphonium players are always in demand. Orchestras, Bands, Jazz Bands and Brass Ensembles and much more are available. I look forward to working with you this summer in upstate NY. Please email me if you have any questions. And please refer to http://www.nysmf.org" target="_blank for more information.

Greetings once again, sorry to be a pest. I have received some excellent inquiries. My bio isn't yet on the festival website and I don't want to be completely narcissistic and post that here. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have as you decide what you would like to do this summer. I am looking forward to performing as much as I can this summer with the faculty quintet and as many recitals as I can get in. Please don't let this fantastic opportunity pass you by. Feel free to email me at j.arnold@yahoo.com" target="_blank

Thanks,
Jason Arnold

Hello again, the response to the original post has been overwhelmingly positive. I do need to clarify though, my intent was to make people aware of the festival. To be clear on this the festival needs participants on all instruments. There is only one tuba on the faculty (me). The festival advertises that it is for participants ages 10-25. I am told that most are between 14-17. So teachers please help get the word out. Seeking participants! Thanks,

Jason Arnold

Bump. This is a fantastic experience. We need high school and early college low brass participants. This Festival typically has 300 musicians in it every Summer. There are many ensembles to perform with. Please email me with any questions. Teachers please pass this information along to your students.

Sorry to completely hijack Tubenet of late. In an effort to help get the word out about the NYSMF I am offering a free low brass masterclass to any band director in the Northeast who will allow me to plug the Festival at the conclusion of said masterclass. I will in addition offer one free lesson to any student who is remotely interested in the Festival. Please contact me ASAP to make arrangements for a (free) Masterclass and or Lesson. Email is the best way to reach me. j.arnold@yahoo.com" target="_blank
