Looks fun, unfortunately only open to EU citizens that are residing in Italy.

Yeah, funny how that works. US orchestras should apply the reciprocal rules for auditions but they won't because they only want the best. Many Euro orchestras are more interested in traditions.

The requirement that candidates reside in Italy is actually illegal under EU law, as the EU is supposedly an open community. The requirement of citizenship in an EU country in order to audition however is valid.

Yeah, funny how that works. US orchestras should apply the reciprocal rules for auditions but they won't because they only want the best. Many Euro orchestras are more interested in traditions.
Well put. Those same Euros are the first to turn around and call the USA a "fascist" country as well. The irony.

Actually these are the requirements for the tuba audition at La Scala (with one L)

b) cittadinanza italiana o di un Paese dell’Unione Europe. Sono ammessi al concorso anche i cittadini non
appartenenti all’Unione Europea regolarmente soggiornanti in Italia;

Italian citizenship or of a country of the EU. Are allowed to take part to the audition also non EU citizens that regularly resides in Italy
