Euphonium hire was Hiram Diaz. Congrats to Hiram and his family! Tuba audition isn't until December.

I don't envy the person who has to audition against you sir...zacorpus wrote:Euphonium hire was Hiram Diaz. Congrats to Hiram and his family! Tuba audition isn't until December.
Corpus is AMAZING and notoriously modest. That is one of the million reasons he is better than I.
Good luck pal!

The audition isn't until Dec. 19th. The way recent auditions have been going though, there's no sure bet they will even fill the position at that point.spartanhooah wrote:Any word if they hired anyone yet?

Make sure you know what thread you're posting in before you start making comments. This Marine Band audition is in reference to the Euphonium audition held last week. There is another, different thread about the Marine Band TUBA audition to be held in December.buckeyebandie wrote:The audition isn't until Dec. 19th. I'm going through that right now (reserve tuba to active Euphonium) Yes you need a conditional release letter from your commander BEFORE you go to the audition. Do note, some divisions do this a little differently. My band is part of the 88th Division and to be release I need the commanding General to sign off on that form as well. But once that is all done when/if you win the audition you just go down to MEPS and sign a new contract. Look into this way in advance cause this process for me is going to be a 2-5 month process. Hope that helps.Bob Kolada wrote:What is required of current military folk (commander's letter,...)?
