For completeness, this job was won recently by a friend of mine, Ben Thomson.

Ben's a fantastic player, who is also on trial for Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, a previous winner of the BBC Radio 2 Brass Soloist, and Principal Tuba of the Fairey Brass Band as well as many other accolades. He played in the BBC Proms with the BBC Scottish SO on TV and Radio this year if you managed to catch any of it.

I look forward meeting up in Glasgow for pints a go go!
