FROST/UMIAMI & COLBURN SCHOOL (LA) OPENINGS AND INFORMATION

DEAR TUBA & EUPHONIUM STUDENTS AND TEACHERS (feel free to hit share):

COLBURN- I will be taking ONE new TUBA player for the fall of 2024. @ The Colburn Conservatory: all students receive full tuition scholarship, as well as grants that cover housing and meals.

FROST/UMIAMI-
I will have 1 FULL Tuition, Room & Board - UNDERGRADUATE tuba spot (Stamps Brass Quintet/Scholar-read below in the comments)
-1 or 2 euphonium spots open (scholarships up to and including FULL Tuition)
-2 openings for graduate assistantships/fellowships MM & AD (stipend of $12k), DMA (stipend of 20k), all in the tuba/euph studio for the FALL of 2024 at the Frost School of Music.

There have been MANY Tuba/Euph studio accomplishments in the last few years.
Currently there have been 15 audition wins
in the last 27 months spanning from major symphony orchestras to the premiere DC Military Bands.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place Prize winners at ITEC 2016-current (all categories) and Leonard Falcone Competitions (tuba and euphonium divisions)

Orchestral Festivals - Fellowship holders at: Aspen, NOI, EMF, Brevard
Runner-up/Alternate: Tanglewood, NRO, Music Academy of the West, and PMF.

*Maestro Gerard Schwarz is our Director of Orchestral Activities - Frost Symphony Orchestra

*Maestro Esa-Pekka Salonen is the Director of Conducting and Orchestral Activities at The Colburn School

In addition to the assistantships/fellowships, there are also significant scholarship opportunities available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, up to and including FULL tuition!

December 1st PRE-SCREENING and APPLICATION deadlines for BOTH SCHOOLS

(*** FROST UG- Please don’t panic and think you must do the early action audition in December. Decisions will not be made until the final audition date at Frost is complete).

The Frost School is pleased to announce auditions for the Stamps Brass Quintet class of 2028. The Stamps Scholar program is a nationwide collection of undergraduate students across all areas of study. Awards are made based on talent, skill, academic excellence. The award includes a 4 year full scholarship plus room and board for each member of the Stamps Brass Quintet. The Stamps Scholars participate in all Frost School activities - lessons, ensembles, classes - while honing skills in an elite chamber ensemble with regular coaching and mentoring by the stellar Frost faculty and regular guest artists.

***Ability to play the F/Eb tuba is desirable, BUT not an absolute requirement.
