Graduate Teaching Assistantships @ FSU

Post by hightower52 »

Florida State University will have at least two graduate teaching assistantships available for Fall 2024. These positions are open to prospective MM and DM students on tuba or euphonium.

Graduate assistants receive a full tuition waiver and an annual stipend that ranges from $7,998.72 to $15,997.44. The application and prescreening deadline is December 1st. Prescreening results are released on December 15th and audition dates are January 27th, February 10th, and February 24th.

GTA duties range from applied tuba and euphonium lessons, coaching chamber music, and leading the undergraduate tuba and euphonium ensemble. There are several performing opportunities in the five concert bands, two orchestras, chamber program, Renegade 8 (tuba-euphonium octet), and many regional orchestras in the area.

Recent graduate student accomplishments include medalists at Falcone, conference presentations and performances, various ITEC competition winners, winner of the Baton Rouge Symphony, and two students offered positions in the Navy Fleet bands.

The College of Music at Florida State University is the largest such college in the Southeast and the third largest university-based music program in the nation. FSU is home to approximately 700 undergraduate and 400 graduate students, who represent nearly every state in the nation and 20 foreign countries.
