No updated information on the competition website:

http://www.instrumental-competition.de/engl/fs-engl.htm

It is interesting, that within the tuba category one of the special prizes potentially is more worth than even the 1st prize.

At the same time as the competition, there is an exhibition celebrating the 40th birthday of the B&S 5 and 6 valved F tuba models.

i write you directly from markneukirchen...

we just finished the second round today. 49 tuba players showed up (of the americans 2 out of 5), 19 made the second round, and 8 will be in the third round tomorrow. i won't give all the names for next round because i don't remember them all--the only ones i know are roland szentpali, andreas hofmeir, and me.

wish us luck!
