Bay View Music Festival

Post by jcameron »

The Bay View Music Festival is an 8 week chamber music camp located in Petoskey Michigan. Each summer we admit enough brass students to assemble one brass quintet. You can apply as an individual or as a pre-formed ensemble. In the past, there has been significant scholarship funding available for high quality students. This is a great opportunity to get a lot of individual attention from an outstanding faculty! Check out the web site for more info:

Petoskey is located on Lake Michigan in the northern part of the Lower Peninsula and has amazing weather in the summer. It is always a great chance to enjoy the sun and water while improving your musicianship. I am anxious to get back up there every summer.

Also, ECU is holding auditions on March 4 April 1 for admittance into the school of music. Those of you who are interested, get your info in soon!

There is no age limit that I am aware of. I have taught there the past two summers and both students were graduate students.

We are still looking for a tuba student for this summer. Tuition will be covered for the right applicant. Please contact Ray Fowler at rsfowler@aol.com for more information. This is a great opportunity.

This is a really great festival. My wife was there a few years ago and I got to visit. It's a little long (8 weeks) but well worth it. Someone should really apply for this!
