All I know is that the panel was too tired to hear the last ten people so those people have to play tomorrow morning!

Toby Oft, current Principal Trombone with the Florida West Coast Symphony in Sarasota, Florida was the winner of the San Diego audition.
Yes, in fact, they sent the last few away till the morning, of which, Toby was one of.

Wow, congratulations to Toby! He was at Northwestern when I was there - and he played in Hornsmoke (the opera for brass quintet).

Yeah Toby!! Toby is a really great guy and player. I had the opportunity to hear him quite a few times down in Sarasota. He will be missed down there for sure.
