APPLIED TUBA/EUPHONIUM FACULTY POSITION

Position: The Department of Music at Indiana University of Pennsylvania is seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track, assistant professor of Tuba & Euphonium, to begin in Fall 2007.

Qualifications: DMA in tuba performance (Terminal degree must be completed by 12/31/07.) Completion of the doctorate will be required for tenure. Candidate must show evidence of successful teaching experience at the university level and a commitment to artistic and professional growth, including performance. Candidates for the position must be prepared to perform a 15-minute recital, rehearse with the Faculty Brass Quintet, provide a teaching demonstration, and communicate effectively and perform well during the interview process. All applicants must be work eligible.

Duties: Teach applied tuba and euphonium, rehearse and perform with the Faculty Brass Quintet, and other responsibilities according to the successful applicant’s areas of expertise and the needs of the department.

Rank and Salary: Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Dr. Gary Bird has announced his retirement at 36 years. It'll be nice to meet the candidates this year.
