I'm not aware of anything that they are required to say by contract.
How many people inquired, how many people sent resumes, how many people were asked, how many people then showed up, how many rounds were determined to be necessary, and who was in which round.
In saying that, though, I've never been aware of an audition where they wouldn't tell you, if the information was readily available.

auditions
I would recommend contacting the personnel manager/committee as little as possible. These folks are usually very busy and under a lot of stress.
Anyway, if you're prepared, who cares who's there?

Agreed!! It's not a boxing match. You're not going one-on-one with anyone else. It's best to focus on your performance for the committee and not obsess about the other candidates.RyanSchultz wrote:Anyway, if you're prepared, who cares who's there?
Amongst aviators it is often said that any landing you can walk away from is a good landing. It's an even better landing when you can reuse the airplane.

Re: auditions
Amen. Auditions aren't just luck of the draw. Just look at Al Baer and Aaron McCalla who recently won multiple auditions in the same year. If you went by statistics, what are the chances of winning multiple auditions in a row? It's been talked about ad nauseum on this board about the chances of winning just one!RyanSchultz wrote:Anyway, if you're prepared, who cares who's there?
If you're trying to guess your probability of winning by counting the number who show up, you're just wasting away time you could be spending working on the excerpts. However, posting on this topic is also a waste of time. Back to work!

You might want to mellow out a little man. Hate and lack of patience aren't good traits for any human being, and tend to be less visible in the "tuba world" from my observations.the elephant wrote:

What makes you so sure that they'd show up, do well, or even be offered a ROPA job!?Doc wrote:Uh...If Steve Campbell or Alan Baer were auditioning, I'd stay home
Remember, this is a job interview. Why would you offer a job to someone who is obviously over-qualified, and probably wouldn't accept it if you did?
Instead of talking to your plants, if you yelled at them would they still grow, but only to be troubled and insecure?
