ITEC 2004

Post by dwaskew »

Well, many folks are arriving now, as the opening concert and meeting are this afternoon at 4 pm.
Competitions are underway, with Young Artist Tuba, Mock Orchestral, Artist Tuba and Artist Euphonium all going on today. Quartet is later in the week. From those going on today, finalists should be announced for Young artist tuba and Mock orchestral today. There are more semifinalists in the other two tomorrow.

The Liszt Academie is old, which means huge rooms, fantastic great hall, and yes, NO air conditioning. Janos Mazura, our host has done a great job, thus far, pretty much organinzing all the local details by himself, no staff.

at any rate, I'll try to keep giving updates through the week as best I can.

Word from our man in Budapest is that 3 Japanese, 1 American (Carol Jantsch), 1 Norwegian and 1 Hungarian have all made the finals in the soloist competition. That's all that I have.
