ABQ Seminar 2007- 1 opening

Post by Jobey Wilson »

Hello all,
I hope everyone's summer is off to a great start! I was just informed that one tuba/bass tbone spot for the 2007 Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar just opened. This intensive brass quintet seminar is held at beautiful Boston College July 21-August 3, and hosted by the BC bands and the Triton Brass Quintet. All info on the Seminar at: http://www.atlanticbrassquintet.com/seminar.php and www.tritonbrass.org

Clarification on the opening:
The ABQ Seminar is comprised of 10 quintets, ranging from mid-high school to professional level.
The particular spot we now need to feel is for:
high school, freshman Music-Ed, or older friend getting back into playing who would be a "father-figure" to the younger students in the group.
This group performs FUN, semi-remedial works such as Canadian Brass "Closer Walk with Thee," Scheidt, Fats Waller, Susato, Dukas, etc... Basically, learn the "easier gig tunes" that actually make Triton and Atlantic a lot of money (comparably :D ).

Filled!! Thank you to all who inquired. High school & college students should really look into the Seminar next year...ABQ also recently hosted one in Sonoma, CA, as well. After the first year we hosted this at BC, I was truly kicking myself for turning down a couple opportunities to attend when I was a student..."in school," I should say...will always be a student!
Have a great summer! If you're in the Boston Area, you should come by the recital nights...I will announce them here soon...don't have all the dates, but these are free & open to the public:
Atlantic Brass Quintet recital
Triton Brass Quintet recital
ABQ/TBQ Joint recital "Brass Blowout"
Masterclasses (only students may play, but anyone can attend).
Friday student performance classes 10-2ish, i think...
Thanks! Jobey

Thanks for the input! I believe the seminar ABQ just did in Sonoma is one week, but the BC Seminar is traiditionally 2 straight weeks...I wish it was longer! jobey
