Duties include teaching undergraduate tuba and euphonium minors, performing with and or conducting the tuba-euphonium ensemble, performing with the graduate brass quintet, coaching undergraduate tuba-euphonium quartets, and other duties within the School of Music based on prior experience. ISU is a great place to pursue your Graduate studies. It has the high quality faculty and ensembles you'd expect at the large universities, but with the one-on-one attention and performance opportunities found at the smaller universities.
I've only had the opportunity to meet Andy Rummel once, but friends and colleagues of mine assure me that Andy is the perfect man to continue the fine traditions established in the ISU tuba/euph studio by Ed Livingston, David Zerkel, Sherri Huff and Mike Forbes.
The vicinity is also awesome, just over two hours to Chicago and three to St. Louis make the opportunities to hear world-class orchestras and have some lessons with some of our fields best teachers and players.
If your in the market to a great place to go to Grad. school give Andy Rummel and ISU a serious consideration.
