NYSMF is a six-week summer music festival that provides extraordinary musical opportunities to hundreds of talented young musicians.

Going far beyond traditional summer music camps, NYSMF provides a uniquely challenging, supportive, and fun environment, where young musicians from ages 10 through 25 all benefit equally from all NYSMF has to offer, including:

More than 50 performing ensembles & classes
Over 30 concerts every summer
Faculty & Staff from Curtis, Juilliard, the Manhattan School of Music,
the NY Pops, and more

Visiting Artists from the NY Philharmonic, the Philadelphia Orchestra, Boston Symphony Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera and many other outstanding musical institutions.

Applications for campers, counselors in training, counselors, and teaching assistants are being accepted at this time.

So far, there are NO tuba students signed up for the festival this summer. I guarantee, that if you apply you will be eligible for a very HEALTHY scholarship.

There are two bands, two orchestras, 3 jazz ensembles, and lots of chamber music, solo, and jazz combo experiences to choose from. In addition, everyone sings with the festival chorus and get to particpate in other classes such as theory, history, musical theater and film.

Past masterclasses have included David Bilger, Tony Kadalec, Blair Bollinger, Wycliff Gordon and many more!
