Navy Band euphonium auditions.. encouraged or deterred?

Questions for all of the euphonium players out there who have (or haven't) taken any of the recent Navy Band auditions:

How do you feel about the upcoming Navy Band audition?

Do you feel more encouraged about taking the audition now that they've already had two auditions and haven't found the right person yet? Do you feel somewhat discouraged because you had a great audition(s) and you can't figure out what you could have done better? Does it motivate you to show them what they're missing in the next audition? Do you feel you should boycott the audition because they're wasting your time? Are you going to say, "F the Navy and F the euphonium"? Are you going to prepare just as hard for this audition? Are you going to do something different in your preparation?

The peanut is neither a pea nor a nut... discuss...

The people who are going to win these jobs aren't going to be deterred by recent audition results.
The Navy Band has every right to keep looking until they find what they want, no matter how frustrating it may be to the pool. When you may be sitting next to someone for 10, 20+ years you only want the best fit for the position.

It seems like each person will have to make their own choice, but I don't think that it would be in anyone's best interest to boycott the audition, especially a Euphonium audition.

Hey Chris, thanks for the response.

I wanted to post this before we get into the same conversation we've had before. I wasn't looking for the same remarks that were made in previous posts about this audition... That gets REALLY boring. If you would have noticed any of the questions I used as conversation bait, I'm not posing the question, "Why??" I'm posing the question, "What now??" or, "How do you feel being in this situation??" And maybe it could be in someone's best interest to not take the upcoming audition so they can focus on a different area of their life or maybe even a front runner from the audition pool can get discouraged and not want to 'waste' their time... you just can't speculate on how other people are thinking or feeling. Everyone thinks differently and that's what I'm going for. I know everyone will have their own decision and their own opinion on what they should do, so that's why I'm targeting a specific demographic that shares this experience (or a very similar experience) so we could have a good discussion from a completely different (psychology of the failed auditionee) perspective from the other posts.

Take care.
