Hi all...

I thought that I would let you know that the tuba and euphonium studio at Illinois State University will have a graduate assistantship available for Fall 2010. If you or someone you know may be interested please feel free to contact me and I will be happy to answer any questions.

Illinois State University is conveniently located about 2.5 hours away from Chicago, St. Louis and Indianapolis. The School of Music enrolls approximately 420 music majors and offers a wealth of performing opportunities within the school and beyond. Check out our website to learn more about the degrees, faculty and ensembles.

I'll go ahead and bump this as well

Though I didn't have the opportunity to study with Mr. Rummel (though all my friends who are/were there with him had nothing but the highest praise for him), I can definitely vouch for the program. I was there from 2004-2006 doing my masters, and it was a wonderful experience. The entire brass faculty is top notch! The Center for Performing Arts is one of, if not the nicest performing hall I have ever seen.

You'll have plenty of performing opportunities. There is a fairly substantial graduate program there, so you'll always find people who want to play in quintet, quartet, brass ensembles and so on. The wind symphony is always at a high caliber, especially if you like playing the works of David Maslanka! Basically, Illinois State is definitely a place worth checking out!
