2010 Atlantic Brass Quintet Seminar-Boston

Post by Jobey Wilson »

Hello all,

The deadline for the 2010 ABQ Seminar is quickly approaching, and we definitely have a couple tuba/bass trombone spots open for this summer. All info here:
http://atlanticbrassquintet.com/v.php?pg=28" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank" target="_blank

The Atlantic Brass Quintet & the Triton Brass Quintet join forces for two weeks in Boston with 50 students. The students are placed into 10 brass quintets based on placement auditions the first day, and each group prepares a short program each week, performing on Fridays. Students receive daily coachings (4-6 each day), everyone will work with each member of ABQ & TBQ, and the evenings are filled with faculty recitals, open rehearsals, masterclasses, lessons, etc...

Tuba Faculty:
John Manning, Professor of Tuba/Euph, University of Iowa
Jobey Wilson, Professor of Low Brass, Boston Collge

Attending this seminar is easily one of the best things I've done in my life. John and Jobey are a pleasure to work with, as are all the other members of Triton and Atlantic. I left the seminar inspiried and ready to take on the world, often thinking "What Would Triton Do?" if I ever feel stuck in a musical rut.

Do it!!!!! You'll learn tons and have a blast!
